How To Make Your Car Go Faster

How to make your car run faster is something almost all humans share. We get behind the wheel of a car, and we want it to go as quickly as possible. We want the adrenaline rush that comes with the speed and danger of a fast car. However, whether it’s because of age or simply because of budget constrictions, we don’t always end up with the fast car we crave. First, install a decent exhaust manifold, and a sports back box. The exhaust manifold collects the exhaust gases from the multiple cylinders in your car into one pipe. The goal of using one for performance concerns in your car is to decrease the flow resistance (or back pressure of the exhaust) and increase the volume of efficiency of your engine. When done properly, this will result in a gain of power output. By putting in a sport back box on a regular car, you can increase the performance capabilities of your car, and decrease the MPG slightly. The increase in power will be noticeable immediately.

Installing a cold air intake into your car is another way to increase the speed of your car. Colder air holds a greater amount of oxygen ions than warm air. So a cool air intake will enable the engine to be able to burn more fuel and thus make your car go even faster. An internal combustion engines produces huge amounts of heat, so just moving the air intake and air filter away from the engine, which you would do in this case, gives the engine a higher performance level by putting an excess of the fuel-air mixture into cylinders.

Putting a ram air intake is another means of making your car faster. In this instance, the classic ram intake is designed to force, or ‘ram,’ more air into the intake manifold. When turned correctly, this will provide a huge increase in the car’s power level. In many ways, this system is like a hybrid of natural aspiration and forced induction. It’s pushing and compressing air before it reaches its manifold, and therefore pushes the car to move at a faster speed than it might be built to be driven at.

Another way of increasing power is with a nitrous oxide injector, which would be installed into the intake manifold of your car. This simple step doesn’t just cool the air down (which we know is better for speed than air that’s warm) but it also increases the amount of oxygen atoms overall in the car’s combustion system manifold to 36%. This is optimal if speed is what you’re going for, because the more oxygen you have, the better.

Even something as simple as your tires can affect how fast your car is able to go. If you were to install a full slick wide tire for all wheels, regardless of the type of car you currently have, that will reduce the friction your car generates (which slows you down), and it will increase the grip your car has (which is needed to maintain speed on slick roads). Selecting a set of tires designed to optimize a car’s performance is the least-time consuming option but can be expensive, which is why many trying to improve their car’s speed don’t always do it immediately. But if you’re committed to making the car faster, a new set of tires will help exponentially.

Going to a mechanic that specializes in car performance and asking them to fit a performance camshaft on your car is another way to increase speed. Timing is everything, and it’s no different when it comes to how your car is built. By putting in the camshaft, you will be able to perfect the time the valves are open when your car is being driven and that will allow the car to go faster. This option may cause your car to sound different, but it will give you a higher horsepower to work with.

Putting an LSD (limited slip differential) device in your car can also alter the amount of torque the vehicle has access to. When each drive wheel has an increased amount of power behind it, especially when your car is racing on a track, can exponentially increase the performance of the car.

A forced air induction system is another way to go when increase power. A turbocharger and a supercharger, paired up with an intercooler (choose an air to water intercooler if possible) because it can compress more of the cold air into the cylinders (which we know increases power) and it will allow more fuel to be burned, which gives your car more energy and thus more speed.

One of the most popular choices on how to make your car run faster if you want to change the whole system under your hood is to acquire a Chevrolet big block engine, and have it installed in your car. Once you have the big block, you can ask a specialist (they can be harder to find outside bigger cities) they can strengthen the block, manifold and overall system in your car and allow it to burn nitromethane or other extra high performance fuels, thus pushing the car to its highest limit in terms of speed and allow you to maximize the speed potential of your vehicle.

I will be getting my yearly car maintenance and it’s usually just comes down to all sorts of oil changes in order to make sure that my fluids don’t freeze over during the winter.
