ProScan is an advanced graphical user interface for ELM-based OBD-II hardware. ProScan’s Terminal tool (Image 1) allows you to send custom hex-formatted requests directly to the ELM microprocessor housed within the OBD-II hardware interface.
The Terminal should only be used by individuals who fully understand the OBD-II specification as defined in SAE J1979.
Note: The Terminal tool requires a successful ProScan connection. If you have problems getting ProScan to connect, you will need to use a stand-alone terminal application such as Hyperterminal for troubleshooting.
